“Please, Mom? I’ll do anything,” Josh pleaded.
“No.” She didn’t even flinch. “Don’t ask again. I won’t repeat myself.”
“But Mom…” He’d never wanted anything so bad in his life.
“Okay, that’s it. Just remember: you brought this on yourself.” She pulled the duct tape out of her purse.
“No, wait. I’m sorry.”
“Too late.”
